Wow ! Project day
I just wanted to say I was blown away with the amazing  presentations the children did today. They stood very confidently and spoke clearly. They loved telling us what they had been up to and everyone loved listening too. It was great that they were all so different . We had cakes and cookies , posters and powerpoints, costumes and quizzes and some mega models too. Well done Cherry Class you should be super proud, I am !

Global Week – The Great Outdoors
The Great outdoors it certainly is ! We’ve enjoyed a few visits outside today. We explored the boat as this is our part of the school grounds that we are focussing on . We brain stormed the problems with it and then we have come up with lots of ideas for improvements. Some of these we can begin straight away and some will need some time and money!
Here are some of the thoughts :
design a new flag
give it a name
improve the seating areas
a telescope
a wheel for steering
compass
ideas for role play
Next we looked at maps, we explored maps of our local area and thought about the symbols used. We had a go at our own maps and discovered how tricky it is .
This afternoon we were outside again with Maple Class exploring Finlay’s garden and thinking about developments for this.
What an amazing day !
Another busy week in Cherry Class.
Week two went by in a whizz and the children of Cherry Class are now fully into the swing of things.
On Tuesday we had a great time during our scooter workshop lead by Adam. He taught us some great tricks whilst moving across the playground. Much fun was had by all.
New Year , New Cherries :)
We had a great first day ! We have been busy news telling and we started our new topic-Where in the World?
We had fun whizzing around the world on Google Earth and then tried out some dancing this afternoon.
It was lovely to have them all back .
Book Week
This years theme for Book Week is Inspirational Figures. We have chosen to do Jane Goodall.
Today we have begun by finding out about her through our class book and the Internet. We have plotted her life on a timeline and tomorrow we will use this to write a biography.
We have also visited Oak Class and shared some of their favourite books.
Don’t forget to come to assembly this Friday to find out if we can get Jane Goodall into the ballon by convincing the parents that she is truely inspirational.
Other things this week include the travelling bookshop, the treasure hunt, book swap and second hand book sale.
