Book Week-Twisted Tales

What a great start to Book Week!

Mrs Wren introduced the theme this morning in Collective Worship and gave us a quick run through of events to follow.

It is also our turn to read our prayers at the end of worship, today Sophie and Thomas read theirs.

We are now very excited and eager to get going with our class story…The Three Pigs by David Wiesner.

After reading the story we talked about how we are going to perform parts of the tale in our school meeting on Friday. ( Please note this is going to start earlier than publicised at 2:15pm)

This afternoon we enjoyed sharing Oak stories…

We then started our scenery walls for Friday…

Thank you to our helpers today. We are looking forward to working with lots more parents during the week and with other drama groups and teachers from local theatre groups and schools.

Many of us offered props and costumes from home but I did say that if this is not convenient then please don’t worry – you can contact me in the usual ways if the children have come home confused.

Tomorrow we are working in class except for our drama workshop 1:15 – 2:15pm with The Watermill Drama company, so if you are free to pop into class to help us with our props and scenery then please do. On Wednesday we have another workshop at 2:15 -3:10pm with the Warminster drama teacher but will be in class working until then. On Thursday and Friday we hope to be ready for run throughs and final practises 😄.

We are also hoping to continue this drama theme into our class assembly which is next Thursday at 2:45pm, in the school hall (after judo).

Finally we have already had some fantastic book reviews for the competition and I could hear lots of children enjoying the treasure hunt too.

Well done Cherry a great first day, keep up the hard work and enthusiasm. 👍🐷🎭📚
